104. Canticle ~

Now— every thing is new again.
Spring has blossomed quietly
across the plains.

Already I can hear You coming
into the wheat
looking for him
who once found You there.

After the winter was over, You said.

Nothing has meaning now
but waiting.
Come to the center
of that boundless golden field.
Come to where I have kept You
while You've been gone.
Come.

For stillness and silence
will hide our helplessness,
in our hidden solitude.

~

Nun ist jedes Ding wieder neu.
in der Stille ist Frühling
zur vollen Blüte gekommen
überall im Land.

Schon kann ich hören
wie Du in das Weizenfeld kommst
um nach ihm zu sehen
der Dich dort einst fand.

Nachdem der Winter vorbei ist
sagtest Du damals.

Nichts hat Bedeutung jetzt
außer Warten.
Komm zu der Mitte
jenes grenzenlosen goldenen Feldes.
Komm dorthin
wo ich Dich behalten habe
während Du fort warst.
Komm.

Denn Schweigen und Stille
werden unsere Hilflosigkeit verbergen
dort in unserer verborgenen Einsamkeit.

A lovely walk down a path . . . mine is different, but the same. Miss you Amigo of 60 years ago.
